And Our Next Producton Is!!
After our hugely successful, sell out production of A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum we have chosen the hilarious comedy Move Over Mrs Markham by Ray Cooney and Jonathan Chapman as our next show.
One of the famous Whitehall Comedies, that ran for years in London's West End, it is to be performed in the Walker Theatre, Theatre Severn from Thursday September the 30th to Saturday October the 2nd 2010. Tickets (£12) are now on sale from the Theatre Severn Box Office.
As you would expect there is much going in and out of many doors (with split second timing), many mistaken and assumed identities, unwanted visitors, misunderstandings and improbable situations, exaggerated characters, and slapstick elements all used for humorous effect. In short a typical Mad Cow Productions evening, full of laughter!!
To give you and idea of the plot....Three couples in pursuit of a romantic liaison converge on the supposedly empty London flat of Joanna and Philip Markham: Henry Lodge wants the flat to entertain Miss Wilkinson, the latest in a long line of women in his life. Linda Lodge, tired of being one of many in her husband’s diary, wants the flat for an amorous encounter with would be lover, Walter. While Alistair, the Markham’s interior designer, wants the flat for his long anticipated liaison with Sylvie their au pair.
But the Markhams' Children’s Publishers' Dinner has been cancelled, and unexpectedly into this chaos arrives the exceedingly straight laced, strictly “no sex please”, Olive Harriet Smythe, the famous authoress of the “Bow Wow” books whom the Markhams must sign up.
What could possibly go wrong? As the plot thickens so do the laughs in this highly entertaining comedy night out, we hope to see you there!
